Abstract (43) : (Limited to parts of article dealing with promotion.) Primary care physicians in private practice were surveyed in depth to enable evaluation of various structural and sociologic variables as predictors of differential prescribing practices. ôAppropriatenessö or quality of prescribing behaviour was determined by expert judges. The better prescriber is critical of the pharmaceutical industry and sees fewer sales representatives and uses journal ads less frequently as a source of prescribing information.
